The Raffle, The Future, & Two Surprises!

First of all, let me start by saying Thank You.

Our first fundraising event was a success thanks to *you*.

We set the goal at $2,000 and ended up with just over $1100. I want to kick off this new chapter in TMJ Hope’s life by being 100% transparent about where your donations are going and how they will help TMJ Hope and TMJ disorder patients in general.

First and foremost, we will be using a portion of the funds to secure our web hosting and forum software for the next six months. This will ensure that we keep the lights on here. :)

Secondly, we are currently investigating several options for securing our non-profit status with the remainder of the funds. While TMJ Hope needs to be (of course!) budget conscious in its beginning phase, I also want to make sure that we do things right the first time and avoid any possibly expensive issues down the line. Preliminary research says that this may mean we need a little bit more funding to finish the application with a reputable attorney. Either way, though, we are well on our way to having our non-profit status. I will keep you updated on this development.

Who won the cat?

Now – on to what you’re waiting for! The raffle! I’m so excited to tell you that EVERYONE who entered the raffle will receive an awesome prize!! How amazing is that? We are in the process of packing everything up (see the attached photo – my dining room looks like it could be the post office, LOL!). The first surprise today is that your package will be on its way very soon, and it will be a huge surprise what each of you are receiving! You may find a big box with a blender at your doorstep, or you may find a pillow…. or even some free yogurt! If you’re anything like me, you LOVE getting mail. When it’s incredible surprise presents that will help your jaw, from generous donor companies, even better, right?!  :)

However, there is one thing we know for SURE. If you donated, you will be getting a package. Woohoo!!!! :)

So, what’s next for those of you that supported TMJ Hope in this fundraiser? And what’s next for TMJ Hope in general? There’s one last thing…..

Part of this fundraising campaign was so that we could ensure we had forum software again this year. It’s expensive, and I have covered the cost of it myself in the past. Since you all supported us and stepped up to the plate so that your fellow TMJ disorder patients had access to information and support, I’m proud to say that:

Our forum will reopen soon with a free section where anyone can post and ask questions!

In other words, because of your support, patients do not have to donate to use the forum. :)

There will be a supporters area where those who donated (and those who donate in the future) have access to some extra features (like patient & expert interviews, worksheets, discount codes, an “Ask Stacy” area, etc), but there will ALSO be an area where anyone can ask questions and connect with one another. I am so excited that this is possible, and I hope that you are too!

As a patient, I completely understand that places like our forum are vital to so many. Forums allow you to connect with others who are going through the same things you are.

The forum is currently receiving a fresh coat of paint and some new features, and then it will reopen for everyone. I hope that you will join us…not only in the forum, but on the journey ahead.  Together we will create a warm, welcoming organization that supports all TMJ disorder patients as well as provides information, advocacy, awareness and above all, HOPE.

Thank you again for supporting TMJ Hope. We can’t wait to “see” you on the forum…. and keep an eye out for a package in the mail if you donated! :)

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone in the US!

I am so honored to be a part of this wonderful organization. I know that I coudn’t make it through this journy without TMJ Hope and I know that so many others feel the same way. Thank you for your hard work and your committment. And thank you, most of all, for the hope.

Thank you so much, Lorelei. :) I feel privileged to be able to do this even part time, and really look forward to the day when it is possible for TMJ Hope to be my only “job.”  :)
